Your new company
Your new company is a well established manufacturing business. They are the UK’s leading provider of wall, roofing and landscape innovations as well as being the worlds largest manufacturer of bricks. They are now looking to appoint a new Head of Built Environment, reporting into the Director of Sales.

Your new role
In your new role you will working within the commercial department with 4 direct reports including 2 technical design coordinators, 1 technical administrator and 1 structural engineer.

You will be responsible for delivering reductions in whole life costs and carbon emissions, while improving productivity and capacity by using intelligent building information models, sensing technology and secure data and information infrastructure. You will be responsible for linking the firm’s product development with current industry requirements and steering the company in the right direction. You will also contribute, influence and take responsibility for the company’s technical approach to the market. This role will require UK travel along with some international travel.

What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate a broad and current knowledge of the UK building industry. You will need to have knowledge in regards to sustainability, thermal performance, water efficiency, environmental and other related design principles that could help guide the companies products and services. It is essential that you have a BIM level 2 qualification and ideally be a chartered professional – Engineer, Architect or Building Surveyor etc. You will need to have a UK driving licence and have the ability to travel internationally.
