As a manufacturer of flexible packaging and bags to the FMCG industry, the company are looking to recruit a lean manufacturing orientated Head of Operations to manage their large production and engineering teams, you will have held a similar position in an FMCG environment.
The Role
Take a hands on approach to develop and lead turnaround activities for the UK manufacturing site.
Plan, direct and co-ordinate all manufacturing activities. Execute manufacturing strategy through the development and implementation of world-class manufacturing best practices and reinforce lean manufacturing principles at all levels.
Lead 200+ workforce; build, inspire and motivate a high performing team to drive a highly flexible and high performance manufacturing operation. Knowledge sharing will be critical to success.
Be accountable for achieving both efficiency targets in the factory as well as bottom line financial results.
Together with the Sales Director be accountable for setting and implementing both the commercial growth and operational effectiveness strategy in UK. Operations/Manufacturing and Sales are assessed as one `Team Telford`. It will be important to develop a more cohesive environment, where the commercial and operational teams are working closely together, through aligning the factory with sales.

• Technical degree
• Demonstrable operations experience in an FMCG environment.
• Decision maker
• Project management
• Knowledge of plastic extrusion and conversation would be advantageous but not essential
• Strong analytical skills
