It is essential that you have current experience of working in a high volume, ideally world class FMCG/Food manufacturing environment, that is using modern methods of working.
Reporting to Operations Director UK, this position will have 6 direct reports and 14 indirect reports. The QAM will be responsible for the day to day quality assurance and the Quality team. This will involve managing the internal audit system, customer complaints from receipt to final close out, assist in maintaining and developing procedures and the Quality Database system.
There will be a strong need to liaise with production to ensure that quality processes and systems are maintained and that adequate controls can be demonstrated as required as well as day to day management of food hygiene through the Hygiene Manager. The role has the overall responsibility for the analytical and microbiological laboratories and the Quality Customer Liaison function. The role will also involve collating monthly KPI data for feedback into Regional Quality.
About you
• Master in Food Engineering, Master in Bioscience, Master in Microbiology, preferably specialized in food or equal through experience
• Approximately 10 years of relevant work experience related to quality assurance in the food industry, with at least 2 years of managerial experience.
• Knowledge or specific business understanding: food safety, microbiology, HACCP, BRC
• Good communication skills, critical analytical and audit spirit, able to engage and convince others in changing procedures and practices
