A market leading British Engineering Company supplying high technology products to some of the most prestigious brands in the automotive sector are looking for an experienced Quality Manager due to an influx of exciting new projects. You will be responsible for the quality operations of the business and have experience in a senior automotive quality leadership role.

The Role

As a Quality Manager, you will;

Support the Quality Director across quality operations, NPI and supplier quality activities across the business.
Lead customer reviews attend meetings and be the face of the company for any quality issues or concerns
Responsibility for Quality Control, Quality assurance and a team of Quality Engineers
Implement and maintain a range of Automotive quality tools to ensure a right first time / Zero Defect culture
Create and implement the best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
Lead and manage the quality function from new product conception through to warranty analysis to ensure a proactive culture so that customers receive the product to the highest standard of quality possible.
Maintain procedures and processes to relevant German automotive quality standard, ensuring compliance to UK, legal and customer specifications and standards.
Review all new potential business for feasibility and profitability, and any SDS (System Design Specification) project management milestone reviews to ensure success on quality, cost and timing.
Report on Quality activities on a regular basis to the Senior Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators.
Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.
Set department objectives and related training and monitor ongoing progress and performance in a timely manner.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.

The Person

An experienced Quality Manager;

Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
Appropriate qualification in Quality management.
Considerable and diverse demonstrable experience of leading a quality function with a proven track record in strategic quality leadership delivering effective quality strategies, policies, processes and systems.
German automotive OEM / VDA quality framework experience desirable but not essential
