Pukka Pies reveal investment plans to create new jobs

Pukka Pies have submitted plans to build a new factory in Leicestershire that if approved could create 150 new jobs.

The firm, that already employs 300 people, anticipates planning approval from Charnwood Borough Council in early 2018.

A Pukka Pies spokesperson said: “The application for the extension to our existing manufacturing and distribution complex at The Half Croft, Syston, is a great step towards futureproofing Pukka Pies’ continued growth in the national market and will have a positive impact on the local economy.

“The proposal for the 50,000-sq. ft. production and distribution facility marks our commitment to our existing team and the local area, and is expected to create 150 jobs.

“The initial engagement with Charnwood Borough Council has been led by planning consultants Marrons Planning. The proposals have been very positively received by the local community and statutory authorities and we have a great deal of confidence that Charnwood Borough Council will assess the proposals expeditiously.
