This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Powertrain Engineer to lead engine development and performance analysis for this ambitious vehicle manufacturer at its state of the art test facility in Coventry. This is a key role in the organisation, leading a small team of (yet to be recruited) engineers working on research, advanced engineering and innovation projects. To be considered candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a depth of experience in gasoline and or hybrid powertrain development and be prepared to travel overseas on a very regular basis. This job will appeal to Principal engineers seeking to step up to Lead Engineer or Lead Engineers to Chief Engineer.
Key elements of this Chief or Lead Powertrain Engineer job:
– Mentor and develop less experienced engineers
– Carry out technical assessments of powertrain concepts, hybrid and base engine technologies
– Provide recommendations to inform the powertrain strategy
– Develop and improve current and new gasoline engines
– Support the overseas parent company with expert advise
– Liaise with engineering consultancies, universities and partners to support projects
Candidate requirements for this Chief or Lead Powertrain Engineer
– Degree qualified
– A minimum of 10 years of powertrain development and performance analysis experience
– Gasoline and or hybrid powertrain development and performance analysis experience
– Possess a fundamental understanding of engine thermodynamic operating principals
– Experienced in base engine and or engine sub-system design and development for performance
– Experience of leading small teams of engineers
– Willing and able to travel overseas on a very regular basis
