Your new role
Now is an exciting time to join this business, as the they embark on multiple transformational change projects to help shape their end-to-end supply chain offering into a market leading proposition. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing the site engineering team to ensure they effectively maintain the automation and equipment within the branch, whilst ensuring that the automated equipment and systems run to optimum efficiency in accordance with company guidelines. You will be accountable for assisting the engineering team in a ‘Hands on’ engineering capacity (as/when required) and to coach and develop capability within the wider engineering team.
A key element of your role will be to ensure that the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is fully utilised in line with company guidelines and all planned maintenance and corrective work is carried out in a timely manner. In particular, you will ensure that engineering KPI’s are produced, analysed and acted upon to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement in equipment performance is carried out.
As the Engineering Manager, you will be expected to oversee the recruitment, training and development of the team, whilst managing specified HSE risks on site in line with business policies and procedures including: management of contractors, management of maintenance of specialist plant (HVAC, Generators, Sprinkler systems etc.).

What you’ll need to succeed
You will possess proven commercial experience within a distribution (supply chain warehouse), manufacturing,  or FMCG environment. You will be confident in your people management and leadership skills, with a clear ability to motivate, develop, performance manage and communicate effectively. To succeed in this role, you will be comfortable in automation installations with 3rd party suppliers and capable working under pressure, whilst motivating others in order to meet tight deadlines.
