Avara Pharmaceuticals has grown their portfolio in the acquisition of the Bristol site and are now seeking to appoint the Head of Engineering to their Senior Leadership team to further enhance leadership at the site.
The Bristol Site is a Top-Tier COMAH facility and is also a licensed cGMP facility. Exemplary Process Safety, SHE, GMP and compliance are fundamental expectations of the site and its people.
Your new role

The company was recently recognised by winning the CDMO Leadership awards 2018 and the Bristol Site is a centre of excellence for manufacturing capabilities.
As Head of Site Engineering you will lead the site asset management strategy, lead site delivery for best practice maintenance performance, provide Functional Engineering capability, lead Facilities Management, Site Utilities, IT and Automation to ensure effective lifecycle management for buildings, facilities and equipment.
You will provide leadership to leading professional engineers and technicians in a combination of direct resources, engineering teams across departments, and external supplier relationships.
You will do so through leading deployment of professional engineering practices to increase reliability of complex process plant as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory obligations.
As part of Senior Leadership team, you will jointly develop the site strategy in building a World Class Contract Development and Manufacturing business, demonstrate visible change leadership to achieve stable ongoing operations and enablement of new business.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be a highly customer focused leader, motivating, and with a proven ability to drive performance in teams to high standards of service and cost effectiveness through change and process improvement.
You will have experience of leading multi-functional engineering teams in a regulated and contract manufacturing environment where asset performance is a business-critical requirement.
You will have full understanding of GxP, SHE and other regulatory obligations applicable to asset management.
You will be educated to an Engineering Degree level with professionally accredited Chartership or equivalent.
Due to the plant being Top-Tier COMAH site we are looking for a background in asset intense, high hazard process and manufacturing operations.
We are additionally looking for experience of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing in a cGMP environment.
