A global first tier automotive supplier require a Head of Quality, responsible for setting the quality standards for products as they go through development stages. You will have a background within the automotive sector with extensive knowledge of quality standards and processes, and will have had hands on involvement in the NPI process.

The Role 

Responsible for the safeguarding and adherence to defined customer requirements, quality measures, standards and criteria in development. Responsible for the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement process of Quality concepts and tools in associated plants. Development and safeguarding of worldwide procedures and methods for verifying specified quality measures and standards. Oversee the release of products and processes with new developments as well as ongoing series changes for quality related matters. Act as main customer contact for all quality related issues throughout the product lifecycle. Escalating deviations to the relevant board for further decision making to mitigate risk. Implementing quality techniques and systems during the complete development process, with the aim of zero error targets. Responsibility for managing warranty and damages claims from the OEM and group.

Ownership of financial reporting for business area. Lead, encourage and motivate employees under your direction, making personnel decisions in collaboration with HR team and supervisors.

The Person

Educated to at least Diploma in industrial engineering or equivalent, or relevant work experience. Ideally with at least 15 years industrial experience within the automotive sector. You will have had Auditor training, DGQ-Certificate, and knowledge of QM technical guidelines. Additionally you will have excellent MS Office skills.

A strategically minded, goal and results orientated individual. Experienced Quality Manager/Leader able to lead teams and manage challenging personnel issues / conflict management.

Travel around all sites will be required as will travel to customer development and manufacturing locations around Europe. The role currently supports a team of 10 reports.
