An experienced Managing Director is required for an established historic vehicle restoration business. This niche SME has gained a truly enviable reputation with a brand that is highly regarded worldwide and a clientele that includes high net worth individuals and collectors of classic cars & racing car brands. Looking towards the future, the shareholders are putting in place a succession plan that will enable the business to continue its successful operation and plans for growth. This will be an extremely interesting and challenging position that will require a unique range of skills that will compliment your General Management experience. With full P&L responsibility, this is an exciting opportunity to join a small, highly regarded and reputable business with a loyal customer base.

To be considered for this Managing Director position you must have or be:

• A track record that demonstrates an ability to deliver profitable and sustainable growth that enhances both the organisations brand and reputation
• An entrepreneurial nature, approachable and credible, able to build robust and enduring relationships, prepared to go the extra mile to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction
• Confident and comfortable in becoming the face and voice of the business, with a background that clearly demonstrates sales and business development success
• Excellent people management skills – an accomplished and proven leader who can manage change, deliver organisational growth through the creation of a continuous improvement and high-performance team culture
• Develop simple and meaningful business KPIs that support brand reputation with a focus on quality, cost, delivery and customer satisfaction
• Commercially aware and financially astute, having held responsibility for P&L and cashflow management
• Strong project and planning skills, with the ability to deliver an effective and efficient throughput of vehicles in a busy state of the art workshop
• A strong engineering or manufacturing background related to vehicle restoration or new vehicle build supported by relevant technical or business qualifications
• A clear commercial focus with an eye for detail that will ensure systems and controls are in place to deliver accurate sales and commercial contracts, that will enable effective production planning and scheduling
• Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation. Able to create ownership, understanding and a desire to succeed across the business

This will be a challenging, highly visible, hands on Managing Director position that will require high levels of energy and drive. You will take full responsibility for the day to day running of a respected specialist vehicle restoration business. Based on success (profitable sales growth, market share, brand & reputation enhancement) there is a significant profit related bonus scheme and a realistic opportunity for share ownership.
