This organisation is one of Britain’s best loved and trusted brands, they have recently gone through a major product overhaul and new product development, meaning that they have started to take back market share and get increased listings in the major grocery multiples.

The Manufacturing Manager is number 2 to the General Manager and forms part of the Sites Senior Leadership Team, so we expect the successful candidate to have fantastic communication and leadership skills coupled with working knowledge of driving forward positive change within a food production plant.
Working with all functions of a modern day food plant, the Manufacturing Manager will lead production, engineering and operational development within the site.

Taking an active part in the promotion, implementation and development of the Company’s quality approach. To apply a Total Quality approach throughout the full range of responsibilities. You will develop an efficient and effective production in line with the site plan and key business, having experience of FMCG manufacturing business. Ideally you will have experience within the Baking industry, perhaps coming from an engineering base moving into a wider operational role.

You will have experience of managing within a multi discipline FMCG Manufacturing site. Experience and delivery of large scale change programmes. Excellent budgetary control and experience of working within the constraints of the business to create realistic improvements.

As Manufacturing Manager you will have knowledge of legislation governing Food Compliance, Employment, Health and Safety and other related topics. Strong interpersonal skills, will need to develop strong working relationships across the business .Abstract thinking, taking often ambiguous briefs and developing them to unambiguous definition. Self-motivated, will be expected to operate independently and interface with senior management across the business.

Educated, ideally to degree level or equivalent you will have the following attributes:
– Graduate or graduate calibre, ideally engineering led discipline
– Knowledge of improving a plant’s performance
– Project management within an FMCG environment
– Experience of plant process improvement projects
