A leading multi-billion pound global supplier of automotive components require an Operations Manager to lead a cross-functional team through a busy and exciting upcoming launch phase. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in first tier automotive, educated to ideally degree level with preferably P&L responsibility.

 

The Role

Reporting into the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the assembly, sequencing, outbound and shipping function within a busy Automotive JIS environment. Leading a cross-functional team which includes – Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality and Logistics, you will be the lead driver in encouraging team work, innovation and support across the business unit during a busy new product launch stage. Possessing full P&L accountability of your department, you will have significant impact and influence of costing, schedules and customer relationships. Through effective leadership and coaching you will have the ability to develop team members to encourage employee engagement to surpass stringent targets. You will be responsible for ensuring the department adheres to the TS16949 and ISO14001 standards, whilst continually promoting the importance of process and policies.

The Person

Preferably educated to degree level in an engineering discipline, or holding a considerable amount of experience in automotive with recognised qualifications in management, you will have previous experience of working towards launch for major OEM customers, and have excellent financial and business acumen, with previous experience of profit and loss. As Operations Manager you will be fully conversant with quality standards, have proven leadership and professional development skills and strong knowledge of problem solving tools and methodologies. Strategically astute, with an eagerness to want to develop into Plant Management and beyond in the future.
