You will be working for a growing manufacturing business in North Lanarkshire specialising in the manufacturing and distribution of bespoke and high end goods. Operating across the UK, this organisation manage the end to end processes on site and have an excellent customer base. Focused on innovation and customer delivery, they are well recognised in the market and project further growth into 2018.
Your new role
As the new Procurement and Supply Manager you will take responsibility for the procurement of all goods and services within the organisation. You will be focused on driving efficiency and will take lead on monitoring procurement operations, inventory management, cost control and budget. You will engage with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis and will support across all business initiatives.
Working as a part of a small Procurement team, you will report directly into the Operations Director. You will work across the organisation, engaging with the Technical teams to support in the end to end processes. You will oversee tendering to ensure suppliers are selected and managed appropriately. You will be engaged in the industry market, to identify trends in the market ensuring business operations are competitive. You will manage the introduction of new products from a procurement perspective and be able to offer guidance and support to wider teams. In addition, you will be responsible for material scheduling strategy to ensure material supply meets manufacturing demand.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have experience operating at a similar level, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Ideally this experience will be supported by a relevant qualification for example CIPS. You will have experience in managing a full procurement function and will have excellent contracts and negotiation experience. Ideally you will be working or will have worked in a fast paced manufacturing environment and will have significant experience in cost savings and business improvement.
