British Steel starts recruiting for over 180 new employees

British Steel is launching a recruitment drive, creating more than 180 new jobs, as it prepares to ramp up production. The company, which is overseen by the UK government, has secured the raw materials to maintain a two-blast furnace operation and will significantly increase iron and steel production in the coming months.

To support this, and British Steel’s drive towards a sustainable future, the company is advertising a variety of professional, skilled, and non-skilled roles in Scunthorpe, Teesside and Skinningrove. Opportunities range from engineering and environment to chemistry and cleaning, and from legal and labouring to safety and stores.

Of the roles, 165 are in Scunthorpe, and 17 are at British Steel’s operations at Teesside and Skinningrove. Among the positions currently available are engineering, technical, manufacturing, and operator roles, together with opportunities in other areas, including welding, nursing, and customer services.
