Additive Manufacturing event to educate sector on opportunities

Additive International will celebrate its 14th annual summit in July, kicking off with a pre-conference session on 9th July that will explore new developments, advances and industry deployments in Additive Manufacturing.

With a focus on large-scale initiatives, presenters at the ‘Future Additive Manufacturing’ day will discuss the very latest in UK science and industrial research supported by funding from theEngineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Innovate UK and key industry players.

The pre-conference day will bring together top speakers from the UK AM community and feature an array of topics – including open architecture AM, creating a plug and play platform for 3D printing and design for AM. The day-long session will cover a range of material systems including those relevant to polymeric, metallic and multi-material AM, as well as explore the science behind new potential applications for sectors from aerospace through to the electronics and pharmaceutical industries.

Conference chair, Richard Hague said: “There continues to be a vibrant community in the UK working on cutting edge research advancing additive manufacturing. This year’s pre-conference and full Additive International summit will help to fuel this community, providing a platform for experts from the UK and around the world to share updates, new developments, knowledge, ideas and applications in additive manufacturing.”

Rebecca Cheesbrough from EPSRC added: “Ongoing research in additive manufacturing is essential to advance the technology and its future applications. By sharing new updates and discoveries in the field, our project teams have the opportunity to learn from each other and the wider AM community to help tackle key issues in the UK and worldwide. Additive International plays a key role in the AM industry, and we are pleased to support this year’s pre-conference day.”

The ‘Future Additive Manufacturing’ day takes place on 9th July, followed by the full, two-day Additive International summit on 10th-11th July. Both events will be held at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel alongside an exhibition with stands from a number of organisations demonstrating their technology, analysis, expertise and products that are helping drive development in AM and wider manufacturing industries. Registration is now open for both events: Additive International.
