Make UK announces national manufacturing award winners
LISI Aerospace, a manufacturer of advanced titanium components for the aerospace sector, has struck gold at Make UK’s national manufacturing awards ceremony.
Make UK, which represents more than 20,000 manufacturing businesses, held the annual awards in London to recognise the achievements of its regional award winners from across the UK.
LISI Aerospace’s Rugby site beat off competition from other regional and national category winners to be named the Make UK Manufacturer of the Year, having already been presented with the national Make UK Developing Future Talent Award.
LISI’s win was given in recognition of its huge turnaround in business performance, which resulted from extensive efforts since 2021 to transform its HR, recruitment, and working practices, with a strong emphasis on diversity, inclusion and the mental wellbeing of all employees. This has included building links with local schools, colleges, and academic institutions and focusing on opportunities for employees from deprived backgrounds and special educational needs.
