We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Production Engineering to lead our clients multidisciplinary engineering team in a high-volume, automated manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in robotic assembly and automated production systems, preferably within large-scale manufacturing.
This leadership role is pivotal in industrializing new products from concept to full-scale production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and scalability at every stage.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of production, process, and manufacturing engineers.
• Drive the successful industrialisation of new products, ensuring smooth transition from concept to full production.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of high-volume automated and robotic assembly processes.
• Ensure production processes meet quality, cost, and delivery targets while adhering to health and safety standards.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure seamless product launch and process integration.
• Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
• Develop engineering standards, procedures, and KPIs to promote continuous improvement within the production engineering function.
• Act as a technical authority in high-volume manufacturing and automation, mentoring and developing team members.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with digital manufacturing tools, Industry 4.0 technologies, or smart factory concepts.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, FMEA, PFMEA, and statistical process control methodologies.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in high-volume automated assembly within a large manufacturing organization.
• Experience in sectors such as automotive, electronics, or other fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing industries.
• Strong technical expertise in robotic assembly systems and automated production lines.
• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Demonstrated experience in bringing products from concept to full industrialization.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process engineering, and production planning.
