As the Manufacturing Director, you will:
• Oversee all aspects of production, quality control, and safety with 7 direct reports and around 250 indirect reports.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to enhance production efficiency and meet targets.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, planning, and quality assurance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
• Maintain adherence to all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
• Cultivate a culture of teamwork, accountability, and employee development.
• Manage equipment, materials, and personnel to meet production demands cost-effectively.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve manufacturing performance and efficiency.
• Drive initiatives to improve product quality and reliability.
• Keep up with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing
We seek a candidate with:
• A solid foundation in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications are advantageous.
• Substantial experience in leadership and management within heavy manufacturing sectors such as rail, aerospace, or wind.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and achieve operational excellence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems and other relevant software tools.
• Capability to lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a culture of continuous innovation and learning.
