Michael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are representing a highly successful automotive manufacturer based in Bradford, who supply an exceptional range of products to a large customer base, both across the UK and internationally. Having experienced impressive growth in recent years, they are now looking to expand their manufacturing leadership team to accommodate the increase in production requirements.
Job Description
The Production Operations Manager will have overall accountability for production, ensuring that manufacturing operations are efficient, on time, to the necessary quality standard and in line with company budgets.Other day to day responsibilities will include:
• Ownership of the production plan and its implementation
• Working closely with Engineering & Procurement teams to ensure reliable supply chains
• Developing and implementing lean/continuous improvement strategy to achieve challenging targets in labour productivity, machine utilisation and material costs
• Ensuring adherence to all H&S standards
• Maintaining product quality and compliance
• Managing, training and developing the production team
The Successful Applicant
Successful candidates will have a strong assembly-led/automotive manufacturing background and a proven ability in developing teams. You will also possess:
• A demonstrable background in manufacturing and leadership
• A data-driven and continuous improvement mindset, with an understanding of lean principles
• Experience with TAKT times or single piece flow manufacturing
• An innovative and customer focussed approach
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
