What happens when a family business gets too comfortable?

As Playdale’s MD/CEO Barry Leahey MBE tells us, it can very quickly get uncomfortable.  Barry, who is the first non-family member to run the 285 year-old company, talks us through the 15 years he’s been there and some of the tough conversations he had to have, to make change happen.

It worked – the company is now a global exporter to 50 countries, is three times the size it was, and Barry is now an adviser to government on SME manufacturing in the UK.
