DXC Technology joins The MTC in Coventry

A world leader in digital transformation and technology has become the latest member of the pioneering Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry. The tie-up will help UK manufacturers plan and execute their digital strategies, embracing the opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution.

DXC Technology’s manufacturing and IT consultants will work with the MTC’s ground-breaking advanced digital diagnostics team to help manufacturers understand the impact of the fourth industrial revolution..

MTC chief executive Dr Clive Hickman said he was delighted to welcome DXC Technology to the MTC community.

“DXC has an international reputation and is adding to the MTC’s resources in the field of digital diagnostics,” he said.

Chief engineer of the MTC’s digital engineering group, Dr Joe Darlington added, “Industries of all shapes and sizes are exploring how they can transform their business performance with the adoption of digital technologies, often referred to as Industry 4.0. A common challenge faced by many organisations is for them to understand their current digital maturity across the entire business from back office systems to shop floor processes.

“The MTC is supporting industry in helping to understand the impact of digital advances and identifying appropriate technologies to support their strategy and deliver real value to the business. As part of our digital diagnostic programme, the MTC is working with DXC and its team of experienced manufacturing and IT consultants to offer UK manufacturing organisations an impartial review of their digital maturity and a path to a business-ready digital manufacturing strategy.”

The MTC was founded by the University of Birmingham, Loughborough University, the University of Nottingham and TWI Ltd. The MTC’s industrial members include some of the UK’s major global manufacturers.

The MTC aims to provide a competitive environment to bridge the gap between university-based research and the development of innovative manufacturing solutions, in line with the Government’s manufacturing strategy. The MTC is part the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK.
