A Manufacturing & Operations Director is required to join a market leading Innovative Aerospace and Defence Technology Company. The Manufacturing & Operations Director will lead and direct the Manufacturing and Operations Function and appropriate resources to achieve financial and business objectives. The successful Manufacturing & Operations Director will also Influence and participate in setting a growth strategy for the business.
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing & Operations Director
• Lead and direct the manufacturing and operation units
• Defines and integrate strategy for functional area(s)
• Provide managerial and technical solutions to a variety of complex issues
• Lead and direct work for team of employees as defined by business needs
• Manage staff selection, performance, development and training processes
• Provide support to manufacturing such as material requisitions and material relocation
• Mentor and oversee technical and professional development of the Manufacturing teams
• Ensures the safety, quality, cost and delivery in all aspects of the manufacturing processes
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal quality controls procedures
• Defines processes and procedures to drive the manufacturing and operation units efficiently
• Ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
Qualifications and Desired Characteristics of the Manufacturing & Operations Director
• A Degree qualification or relevant education and work experience
• A background with complex Manufacturing and Engineering Operations
• Capable of driving change transformation and strategy execution to achieve results
• Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma process improvements
• Extensive manufacturing knowledge of aerospace, automotive or engineering industry
• Innovative in leading the Manufacturing and Operations Function
• Able to resolve problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgment
• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence
• Strong leadership and management skills
Security Clearance will be required for this position due to the nature of the Products Manufactured and the Industry Sectors that are involved.
