The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story – created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Operations Director. The purpose of the role is to oversee programme and project delivery for the Core Innovation Hub on behalf of the CIH Programme Director and Board in the context of the Transforming Construction challenge.

The Role

Duties and responsibilities of the Operations Director include:
Drive delivery of programme, outputs and strategic goals working between the CIH Board, IUK governance, TCA centres and core delivery partners
Build and nurture an effective cross-centre Senior Management Team, effective inter-centre communication and ways of working at all levels
Own and iterate key documents including the CIH 100 Day Plan and Delivery Plan
Ensure that the CIH Board, Centres and project teams are compliant with the management and reporting requirements of programme funding as set out in the Grant Funding Agreement and CIH Consortium Agreement.
Support Programme Director as required in strategic engagement and communication of CIH programme and benefits
Work with the Programme Director and SMT towards demonstrating matched industry commitment and developing long term commercial sustainability for the CIH and outputs

The Person

The Operations Director will have / be:
A Senior Manager with significant experience of working with the construction and built environment sector
Experience of public sector funding and working with policy makers and implementers
Broad commercial experience including change management, business and product development
Experience of performance assessment and improvement in the built environment
Values-driven, with a strong commitment to social outcomes and working with integrity
Experience in partnership development and effective teamwork across organisational boundaries
