Natures Way Foods to expand factory and create new jobs
A West Sussex-based fresh food manufacturer has secured a multi-million pound funding package to complete its factory expansion by 2021 and support its long-term growth strategy.
Natures Way Foods, which supplies fresh, prepared salad and fruit to some of the UK’s leading supermarkets, will use the funding from NatWest and partners Lombard and Royal Bank of Scotland Invoice Finance to finish expanding the factory’s footprint by 2,500 sq. metres.
With work due to finish in spring 2021, Natures Way will spend the next four months adding new wash lines, bagging lines and associated equipment to the additional space to supply increased demand of freshly prepared babyleaf products. The expansion will also mean the recruitment of over 100 new employees.
Natures Way was founded in 1994 as a small bagged salad business and over the past 26 years has expanded to become a manufacturer of salads, coleslaw and other fresh products, supplying more than 110,000 tonnes of product to supermarkets and food service outlets in the UK.
Colin Smith, chief executive officer at Natures Way Foods, said: “This investment by NatWest and its partners has enabled us to continue expanding our capacity to meet increased customer demand. This investment has solidified our position as UK market leaders in the bagged salad category and our strategic growth plans are on track.”
Antony White, relationship manager at NatWest, added: “Working together with Lombard and Royal Bank of Scotland Invoice Finance we have been able to offer a collaborative funding package to support Natures Way during its expansion. The company have seen a very impressive few years of growth driven by some large contracts wins and the success of Natures Way is a testament to the quality of its products.”
