Growth sees Assembly Solutions create new jobs

Bolton-based manufacturer Assembly Solutions has announced a record intake of recruits, with 15 additional staff joining this summer.

The subcontract manufacturer of cable assemblies, wiring harnesses and control panels, which supplies firms including Ford, Siemens and Vodafone, has seen a 20% growth in sales and is forecasting a record financial year. Despite the economic challenges facing the industry currently, and a shrinking labour pool, Assembly Solutions has seen an increase in UK manufacturing opportunities which has led to it securing a number of significant cable assembly and wiring harness production contracts.

With 15 new starters joining over the summer, the company has reached a record workforce of 90 full-time staff. The new starters include three apprentices; Alex Waterworth, Isobel Hargreaves and Jamie Preston, who are all embarking on careers in the technical and engineering departments.

The recruitment of new staff shows no signs of slowing down, as the company is still actively searching for new team members to fill roles in its production and quality departments.

Sophie Balshaw, HR director at Assembly Solutions, said: “It has been a challenging year trying to recruit the right people, but with patience and positivity, we have now built a really strong team that is helping the company achieve amazing things. Our priority is to continue growing, with people who bring great energy and believe in our mission and vision of creating the best customer experience and being the best in class. I’m so excited to see all the new starters shine and look forward to creating many more job opportunities to the people of Bolton and surrounding areas.”

Sophie co-owns Assembly Solutions, alongside her two brothers, Gareth & Oliver Balshaw, after the company was passed down by their father and founder, Graham Balshaw in 2020.
