Signature Flatbreads to make £150m investment
As it marks its 40th anniversary, bakery product manufacturer Signature Flatbreads has announced plans to make a £150m investment and create 500 new jobs.
Founded in 1984 by Dr Samir Eid, Dunstable-based Signature Flatbreads introduced the UK’s first commercial naan breads and tortillas into British supermarkets. Under its growing brand, Deli Kitchen, it offers a range of breads including Italian-inspired sliced focaccia, greek flatbreads, brioche-style wraps and Persian flatbreads.
This latest announcement follows the completion of a £100m investment programme, which the firm says will ensure it remains at the forefront of the British bakery market. Looking ahead, the company now plans to invest over £150m to expand its product offering and increase production capacity, with more than 500 jobs expected to be created over the next few years as a result.
