Food Innovations creates 35 jobs at new £3m factory

Food Innovations Baking Group is creating 35 new jobs, following a £3m relocation to a new site in Nottinghamshire.

The move has seen the independent manufacturer of home baking products centralise nine production units into one brand new facility on Panattoni Park in Eastwood.

The investment has created a number of additional dedicated lines and helped to expand its product development kitchen to give it more capacity to bring additional baking kits and other products to market.

Food Innovations Baking Group sells the full spectrum of edible and non-edible products, from cake mixes and kits, food colourings and flavourings, cupcake cases and cake boards to frostings, sugar paste and marzipan, sprinkles and bagged cake confectionery. It provides products under licence, private label and own brand.

Backed by Ardenton Capital, the company is now looking to recruit 10 technical and new product development jobs, with a further 25 roles available in production, ranging from general and skilled operatives to line and area leaders.

Full training and development plans will be in place for all new starters, with progression routes in place across the group’s rapidly growing three sites across the UK.

Jag Sanghera, HR manager at Food Innovations Baking Group’s Nottingham facility, said: “Demand for our range of products has really accelerated during Covid-19 and this prompted the need for a purpose-built central facility in Nottinghamshire that will give us the platform for the next twenty years. We have moved from nine individual units to one central site, where all the administration, manufacturing and R&D work is carried out under one roof and benefits from state-of-the-art production space.

“Better still we are creating 35 jobs, which comes at a great time for the people of Nottingham who may be considering their career prospects following the pandemic. We are looking for anyone with a desire to move into food manufacturing and have a passion to learn and take on new ideas.”

Food Innovations breadth of manufacturing capabilities in Burnley, Chapel-en-le-Frith and Nottingham give it complete control over the various processes and provides flexibility to customers involved in food service and wholesale, plant bakers, specialist sugar craft, independent retailers and some of the UK’s largest supermarkets.

Jag concluded: “We have earned a well-deserved reputation for innovation and technical excellence, and this has led to us being the ‘go to’ provider for home baking products in the UK. There is rapid expansion across the group and our Nottingham facility is going to be crucial to realising this. We now just need local people to join us on the journey.”
