Ideal Modular Homes officially opens new Liverpool factory

Ideal Modular Homes has marked the official launch of its new 70,000 sq ft flagship factory.

The factory, which is set to employ over 160 people in the next two months, is the international hub for Ideal Modular and has been specifically designed to manufacture over 900 modules per year. The production line is now capable of creating a completed two-storey house in less than five days thanks to the company’s bespoke designs and state-of-the-art manufacturing methods.

Strategically situated on Triumph Business Park in Liverpool, it provides excellent access routes across the UK and its close proximity to the port of Liverpool means that it is also able to offer direct shipping to clients in Ireland too.

Ideal Modular’s CEO, Luke Barnes, said: “Ideal Modular is a forward-thinking company with ambitious growth plans over the next few years. Over the last 12 months, we have worked tirelessly to bring this facility up to our high standards in order to produce hundreds of homes per year.  By using sustainable materials and the latest advanced technology, all of our homes are energy efficient and the highest standard available on the market.  We’re now extremely excited to be rolling our first project homes off the line in the coming weeks.”

“We’re incredibly proud to have our roots in Liverpool and play our part in the huge growth of modular home construction, while also supporting the local community with additional job opportunities.”

Since acquiring the facility in 2017, Ideal Modular has developed new approaches that have refined the modular home construction process, overhauling the layout of the property to make the production line as efficient as possible. By utilising an in-house team of architects and working with award winning practices throughout the UK, the company is well placed to become a major contributor to the modular home market.

Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson, who cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the factory, added: “The modular construction industry has always fascinated me and I believe it will play an important role going forwards.  I have been incredibly impressed by what Ideal has created here, a world-class modular facility which is one of the best I have seen and am confident that we are going to see great things from them in the future.”
