Overview:  Working with our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their established team.

Remit:
As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for effectively managing the Maintenance, Development and Site service teams to ensure plant/ equipment availability, reliability and performance
You will be required to lead, manage and further develop a team of over 20 engineering colleagues, engaged in the maintenance of injection moulding machines, automation and ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities:
Provide a safe and effective reactive maintenance response to unplanned breakdowns.
Maintain an effective planned maintenance program.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for our manufacturing processes – thru monitoring production data and root cause failure analysis.
Manage maintenance and capital expenditure budgets.
Effectively manage spare part procurement and stockholding levels.
Identify and justify yearly capex projects – needed to keep the plant running at budgeted levels of performance.
Maintain relationships with key suppliers and sub-contractors.
Participate in safety, production, management and planning meetings.
Manage capex/ project procurement, installation and handover process.
Participate in maintaining a safe working environment and advocate safe working practices are always adopted by employees, including the management of contractors whilst working on site.
To comply with all company rules, regulations and procedures and promote good working practices throughout the workforce.
Continue to further develop the engineering team with internal and external training.
Oversee that the site complies to all company / UK health and safety legislation, in terms of inspection, servicing and remedials of buildings, plant and equipment.

Requirements:
Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in engineering management, ideally within an injection moulding environment however other manufacturing industries will be considered.
Strong technical knowledge of injection moulding machinery, automation systems, and ancillary equipment.
Track record of implementing effective planned and reactive maintenance strategies.
Experienced in managing capex projects from justification through to installation and handover.
Experience managing teams and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Budget management experience, with a focus on maximizing return on investment.
