About Our Client
We’re currently working in partnership with a highly successful Doncaster-based manufacturer who supplies a range of large assembly-based products to a stable and growing customer base. This leading UK business has experienced impressive growth in recent years and is looking for a Production Operations Manager / Factory Manager to maximise productivity, minimise cost and maintain quality through effective management of their manufacturing teams.
Job Description
The Factory Operations Manager will have full responsibility for the day-to-day running of production, manufacturing and assembly across the site, and will have a huge impact on the strategic direction of the business. Responsibilities will include:
• Ownership of the production plan and its implementation
• Working alongside engineering and supply chain to ensure on time delivery of a quality product to all customers
• Leading, motivating and developing a skilled workforce through regular communications and reviews
• Creating and implementing relevant KPIs to track and improve efficiency
• Instilling a collaborative approach across the team where people communicate with openness, honesty and with autonomy over their area of responsibility
• Modelling a ‘safety first’ culture, ensuring operational procedures, equipment and processes allow for a safe working environment for all employees
• Driving continuous improvement activities and working alongside the MD to review strategic developments for the business’s long term success
The Successful Applicant
Successful candidates will have a strong manufacturing background and a proven ability in leading and developing teams. You will also possess:
• A demonstrable background in manufacturing and leadership
• A working knowledge of production planning and efficiency optimisation
• Strong communication skills
• A continuous improvement mindset
• A determination to succeed and improve
• The ability to work under pressure and to tight planning schedules where different manufacturing processes combine
• Strong H&S mindset and proven ability to balance HSEQ with output
• Experience in managing departmental budgets would be advantageous
