Job Description
The Head of Engineering, CI & Sustainability will report directly into the MD and will be responsible for driving strategy across the business. Other day to day responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring there is a robust and structured PPM system in place and continuously improving this through machine learning
• Delivering improvements in machine performance, reducing downtime, reaction time and breakdown events across the plant
• Drive continuous improvement culture throughout the business, starting with the production and engineering teams
• Create the engineering strategy and implement this across all teams
• Define and implement comprehensive strategies to reduce costs, mitigate risk, shorten lead times and reduce waste
• Operating to the highest safety standards and promoting this behaviour in others
• Work with the sustainability team to reduce the site’s carbon emissions, reducing water usage, energy and wastage
The Successful Applicant
Successful candidates will have a strong engineering background and a proven ability to lead and develop teams in a manufacturing environment. You will also have:
• A proven continuous improvement skill set, constantly searching for ways to develop the department
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with peers, senior leaders and team members alike
• Demonstrable knowledge of sustainability strategies and how to implement these
• Results focussed mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure
