A large FMCG and consumer goods manufacturer is recruiting for an Engineering Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a Monday – Friday role, based at the Redditch manufacturing facility, where you will manage an effective and efficient
maintenance function. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, and comfortable with hands on engineering work, while also being able to manage and plan the departments function.
The Role
• Must have a hands on approach to all engineering requirements
• Ensure health, safety and environmental requirements are met
• Have financial control of all relevant costs for parts, energy etc
• Help train new engineers in future and carry out annual appraisals of relevant employees
• Promote and oversee the manufacturing engineering involvement in the product design phase
• Liaise effectively with other departments to ensure that planned maintenance is carried out efficiently
• Project manage manufacturing engineering activities in support of programme progression from pre-production to full-production
• Ensure business systems related to manufacturing engineering are suitable for future growth
• Help to develop departmental KPIs in agreement with higher level business objectives
• Any other tasks that are reasonably assigned to you by your line manager, including development activities, which are within your capability and grade
The Person
• Must have 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience in FMCG, chemicals, pharmaceuticals or Food
• Hold a relevant engineering qualification or apprentice trained qualification
• Hold mechanical engineering qualification and ideally an up to date electrical qualification (18th edition)
• Proven track record of project management with a strong element of process control
• A strong leadership capability, and able to communicate with people from different skillsets and backgrounds
• An engineering leader who is happy to get ‘hands on’ with production and manufacturing equipment
