Working exclusively for our client, a successful injection moulding manufacturer to key 1st tier suppliers and OEM’s, we are attracting suitable experienced Operations Manager professionals with good experience of Paint & Assembly and hi-volume manufacturing.
Scope:
This role will suit applicants with strong experience in automotive and plastics or injection moulding Operational, Manufacturing or Production disciplines, with several year’s expertise in people, product & process management in a hi-volume & LEAN manufacturing environment. Applicants MUST HAVE experience with Paint & Assembly processes & production. You will be responsible for circa 100 staff.
Responsibilities:
All aspects of operational performance including customer satisfaction.
Work professional and cohesively with other business Directors for strategy planning and business risk assessments
Process ownership of departmental procedures to satisfy IATF 16949 and ISO14001 standards
Leadership, support, training and mentoring of team members across Production, Paint, Assembly, Logistics staff
Deliver agreed KPI targets and business objectives
Support the company’s strategic goals by implementing and refining best practice systems, procedures & technology.
Deliver Continual Improvement
Respect, promote and practice the published core values of the business
Support & contribute to overall business strategy, planning and leadership initiatives
Leading responsibility for all operational aspects of the business
Identify and implement modern change & LEAN initiatives for benefit of the business
Define company policies and procedures relating to operational activities
Establish, maintain and deliver an operational departmental business plan in support of the overall strategic business plan, in collaboration with the Operations Director
Drive day to day operations from an operational leadership perspective
Senior level responsibility for Health and Safety throughout the plant
Capacity and resource planning to ensure the plant maintains an ability to support the sales budget.
Essential preferred requisites required in:
Paint & Assembly processes ( Moving track, manual, automated spray booths etc ) Injection Moulding or Plastics manufacturing
Secondary processes, robotics and automation knowledge.
Supply Chain & Logistics Material and Resource Planning TPM (tooling & machinery)
Industry 4.0, 5S and Lean Six Sigma
Automotive experience – IATF16949 – ISO14001
Financial budgetary control
Knowledge of other industries ( Desirable )
Strong Leadership & Management skills.
Structured, highly organised and disciplined.

Experienced professional within the plastics industry in a senior operations or Lead Manufacturing post.
Qualifications & Training:
HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical / Production Engineering or Engineering apprentice trained
