Following company growth and expansion, a leading manufacturer of complex components and assemblies has a new vacancy for an Operations Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day site operations and drive continuous improvement across the site. Applicants are sought who have worked in a complex manufacturing environment and some understating of machining techniques would be beneficial but not essential.
The Role
Management of production team
Ensure that customer quality and delivery performance metric are met.
Work with other sites in the Group to ensure clear reporting of production status.
Day to day effective deployment of resources i.e. labour, equipment and methods, demonstrated by the application of KPIs i.e.
Collaboration with senior management in the development of long term strategic goals, operational plans and performance
Financial performance and improvement actions to achieve business and departmental budgets
Continuous improvement activities and elimination of wastes supporting labour productivity, equipment capacity, productivity, efficiency and cost reduction by applying best practice ‘LEAN’ techniques.
Develop department and team skills in line with business requirements
Drive initiatives in the organisation to contribute to long-term operational excellence.
The Candidate
Proven experience managing production teams, and facilities (complex manufacturing)
Strong leadership / managerial skills.
Excellent communication skills
Strong organisational skills
Good knowledge of Production/manufacturing machinery and technologies
Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements and guidance.
Excellent time management.
Excellent attention to detail with a problem-solving mentality.
