Consilium Recruit has been exclusively retained to partner an industry leading Engineering company with their recruitment of a Procurement Director. Focusing on the design and build of an innovative propulsion system and joining at a time of significant investment & new product launch, you will lead all aspects of Procurement and Supply Chain activities and candidates are sought with a hands-on approach gained from within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
The Role
Define & execute Procurement & Supply Chain strategy.
Lead and manage the supply chain team.
Resolve any issues regarding supply commitments.
Work to continuously improve supply chain and implement strategic future proof planning.
Lead, direct and manage all supplier relationships.
Responsible for ensuring commercial negotiations are carried out in line with Commodity Strategies.
Define and maintain portfolio of key strategic suppliers.
Continually assess business operation to implement industry leading practices.
Ensure that the right Procurement and Supplier Development processes are robustly implemented.
Generate and maintain business metrics for supplier quality performance.
Defining commodity strategies to meet quality, cost and delivery KPIs whilst minimizing stock/cash commitments.
The Candidate
At least 5 years in a senior leadership supply chain/procurement position.
CIPS qualification highly desirable.
Experience of developing procurement and supply chain departments with a strong focus on robust processes.
Experience in a ‘blue chip’ manufacturing/engineering organisation desirable.
A strategic thinker, you will be able to influence and implement change.
Must be able to travel within UK and overseas as required.
