An industry leading manufacturer of complex assemblies to the used across a range of sectors has a new vacancy for a Production Manager. The successful candidate will oversee the day to day production, planning and drive continuous improvement across the site. Applicants are sought who have preferably worked in an assembly environment and the position is initially a 9-month FTC but this could extend or be made permanent.
The Role
Responsible for assembly and manufacturing activities on site
Own and manage production schedules and ensure goods are ordered in time to achieve agreed delivery dates.
Manage, develop and coach the Production Team
Delegate work activities and duties
Work with engineering to contribute to design reviews and efficient introduction of new products
Coordinate with the Purchasing function to ensure raw materials procurement
Work with the Finance and Commercial Teams
Oversee goods in, goods out and delivery of products
Continually review, develop and improve the production manufacturing processes
Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all Health & Safety legislation,
Managing all basic level HR requirements of the team
Ensure customer deadlines are achieved OTD (On Time Delivery)
Ensure measures are taken to achieve cost reduction opportunities and reduce waste
The Candidate
Proven experience managing production teams, and facilities (preferably assembly)
Experience and knowledge of general workshop tools and small machine equipment.
Strong leadership / managerial skills.
Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements and guidance.
Excellent time management.
Implementing and operating an MRP system.
Excellent attention to detail with a problem-solving mentality.
