A large food ingredients manufacturer is recruiting for a Production Manager, to lead the manufacturing and planning team, on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is based in Aylesford, and is part of the senior leadership team.
The Role
You will be responsible for the manufacturing strategy for the sites
Ensure and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing practices
Ensure an OTIF (on time in full) manufacturing environment
Monitor plant capacity and propose timely and cost-effective means of ensuring long-term production capability
Support and encourage team members to develop process improvements
Commitment to deliver the production requirements and performance targets
Identify and support and training needs production and planning
Control department expenses against annual budget, attend reviews and compile future budgets
Identify and develop cost improvements opportunities within production environments
Delivery of production and planning targets
Participate in visits and audits when necessary
The Person
Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential
Any exposure to the manufacture of FMCG finished goods would be favourable
A project management qualification would be desirable (APMP, Prince 2, Agile)
A recognised Health & Safety qualification would be desirable (IOSH or NEBOSH)
Exposure to Lean Six methodology
A competent user of ERP systems, and Microsoft Office also
A strong analytical person who can utilise data
Key leadership skills, who is a team player and leads by example
Experience working in the food manufacturing industry would be beneficial
A key mentor who is able to coach members of the team
