Following significant investment and plant expansion, a manufacturer of precision components to the Aerospace, Defence and High Technology sectors has a new opportunity for a Production Manager. Part of the senior management team, you will oversee the day-to-day production, drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and will ideally have experience working in a complex engineering environment (fabrication, machining or similar).
The Role
Day to day management of production facility
Ensure that all quality, cost and delivery requirements agreed with the customers are met.
Process optimisation and continuous improvement of output and quality
Accurate measurement of manufacturing performance for machines and workforce
Allocation of people and resources where necessary and encourage team work
Continuously improve quality and manufacturing costs in line with business objectives
Support the Operations Manager in reporting to the board, setting budgets and forecasting
Implement production KPIs aligned with business objectives.
Drive costs savings through efficient use of resources at your disposal.
Lead, develop and coach production team
Lead the development of a culture which supports process management and continuous improvement
Develop action plans focused in improving output
Improve manufacturing engineering capacity and efficiency
Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all Health & Safety legislation,
The Candidate
Proven experience managing production teams in a fast-paced environment.
Worked in a highly regulated complex engineering environment (fabrication, machining or similar)
Experienced in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodology
Experience developing and implementing Manufacturing systems
Ability to organise and prioritise workloads
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
A self-motivated individual with strong leadership ability.
Excellent attention to detail with a problem-solving mentality.
