What More UK invests £20m at Lancashire factory

Lancashire-based housewares manufacturer, What More UK, has invested £20m on a number of new projects including 13 new injection moulding machines for its Altham factory.

Five of the new machines have already been installed and are set to increase manufacturing capacity at the site. The British firm behind the popular housewares brand Wham also plans to upgrade or replace every machine it owns within four years.

Throughout the pandemic, What More UK has increased its investments and focused on resilience and agility.

Tony Grimshaw OBE, director at What More UK, said: “What More UK is not the sort of company to sit still. In business, we deal with crises every day and the worst thing you can do is ignore it. Putting money back into the firm means we’ll be stronger in the future. These new machines will give What More the ability to respond to changes as and when they occur.”

What More UK products are available in all major UK supermarkets, 1,600 independent retailers in the UK, and 75 countries around the world. The firm produces a range of housewares including storage boxes, around-the-sink items, bakeware and cookware. It also produces products for the garden including planters and troughs.
