Tiger Trailers secures 139 trailer order from Evri

Parcel delivery company Evri has ordered 139 additional twin-axle van trailers from Tiger Trailers. The new additions will be joining the 200 trailers supplied in 2015, when Evri was known as Hermes, and the 189 trailers added in 2022. This latest order from Evri takes the operator’s Tiger Trailers fleet over the 525 mark.

The order is split into three batches, the first of which is nearing completion, with the remainder to be delivered by mid Q4 ready for the UK’s Black Friday retail period followed by Christmas, during which time it expects to transport over 3 million parcels.

Tiger’s sales, design and engineering teams worked closely with Evri to ensure that its new 4-metre-high box van trailers are manufactured to bespoke specification. All 139 trailers will be built at Tiger’s factory in Winsford, Cheshire.

David Landy, head of fleet at Evri, said: “We’re delighted with the new trailers, they look great and are helping us celebrate our heritage and 50 years of courier deliveries. We have a great relationship with Tiger and they have been superb in meeting our unique needs for the new trailers.”

Darren Holland, sales directorat Tiger Trailers, added: “It’s fantastic that we are continuing to strengthen the relationship with the Evri team. At each enquiry stage we go through the same process of evaluation of the existing fleet to ensure that the final trailer design is perfect for the Evri operation. We are very proud of the relationship and the final trailers that we are supplying into their operation.”

Tiger and Evri share a focus on environmental sustainability, with solar panels and biodiversity areas installed at the trailer manufacturer’s factory and the parcel operator’s flagship superhub respectively.

Evri operates 202 Bio-CNG (biomethane compressed natural gas) tractor units which reduce CO2 emissions by up to 84% and also reduce NOx, particulate matter and noise pollution compared to equivalent diesel trucks, while Tiger manufactures skeletal and other specialist trailers for Evri’s CNG supplier.
