Legislative changes in the European market has created a gap that this technology satisfies. To fully capture this opportunity our client has created a new role for a Business Development Manager. As this is high value, automated capital equipment to the automotive Tier 1 and OEM market its anticipated that you won’t sell much in your first 12 months, so the key metric is how much time you spend with customers, both at plant and engineering level and with corporate offices and procurement.
This role will have a sizeable amount of travel, circa 70% so would only suit those that get a buzz from being out, at airports, in hotels and in a different country each day. You must have either sold high value capital equipment or have a great network of contacts in the automotive market – having both is the ideal. Whatever your background is you need to be a qualified engineer, ideally mechanical, understand the needs of fast paced production/manufacturing and be an excellent customer manager with a win-win commercial approach.
