A high-performance technology company is looking for an Engineering Manager (Power Delivery). The role of Engineering Manager is to manage and lead a Power Electronics team designing state of the art Inverters for use in Motorsport and Automotive industries.

The Role

You will actively manage the Power Electronics team to empower and foster delivery, setting clear team objectives and plans and delivering through Agile/SCRUM methodologies, sprint planning, backlog task grooming, effort estimations, burndown and velocity charts.
Strong people management skills, including setting clear goals, objectives and expected behaviours, agreeing development plans and regularly reviewing performance.
Develops team members in relation to their performance in the team, regularly reviews progress and undertakes performance reviews.
Allocates resources and forecasts resource and capability requirements for projects, liaising with key stakeholders.
Sets and organises the priorities and direction for the team. Distributes work in line with project/ business requirements.
Plans and schedules multiple concurrent projects (may work alongside Project Managers) in line with business imperatives.
Anticipates and resolves problems in multiple areas of work – which upon occasion will involve power electronics debug and re-design when a design issue is verified.
Ensures solutions/ systems meet functional/sector safety standards, are completed to quality standards, timescales and budget.

The Candidate

Minimum Degree Qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
Agile advocate with a thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values and procedures (e.g. backlog, burndown, velocity, etc.)
Power Electronics Engineering background ideally with Inverter, PSU and DC to DC detailed design experience.
Thorough understanding of the design process from concept and requirements capture through design, implementation and test, ideally within a ISO26262 / IEC61508 project environment
Model based software development in MATLAB-Simulink, LTSpice or equivalent
Knowledge of double pulse testing, solving EMC and shoot through issues.
Working knowledge of power module integration whether based uopn IGBT, SiC or GaN technologies.
Data analysis tools – e.g. MATLAB, ATLAS, Midas
Practical electronics experience (hardware design, implementation and test)
