A leading engineering group has a new vacancy for an Engineering Manager to join the team. You will be tasked with developing the engineering strategy for the plant, improving equipment efficiency & driving a positive cultural change. Candidates are sought with a proven track record of managing large capital projects and must have excellent leadership skills gained within a complex engineering environment.
The Role
A recognised leading engineering group has a new vacancy for an Engineering Manager to work at its growing plant on the outskirts of Birmingham. The position will have accountability for delivering the engineering strategy across the facility including equipment efficiency, capital expenditure, facilities and developing the team.
Key responsibilities
Improve overall equipment availability and performance
Develop a positive cultural change within the engineering function
Drive a continuous improvement ethos across the engineering department
Work with senior leadership team to ensue business wide targets are achieved
Develop an effective Planned Predictive Maintenance (PPM) program
Identify, propose and manage capital equipment investment and projects
Effectively manage performance of team members setting personal objectives and development plans
Establish an effective internal communication engineering strategy.
The Candidate
Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering subject you will have experience in leading and managing a multidisciplined team in a precision engineering environment. Candidates must have held full functional responsibility for an engineering department and have a demonstrable experience of managing large capital projects on time and within budget.
With excellent leadership skills you will place an emphasis on creating a positive culture and will have a track record of developing people. An analytical problem solver you will be able to network and build relationships and will have experience of multi-million budgetary responsibility.
