Supplying specialist equipment, a well-respected organisation has continued to expand in both market share and prominence and has a new vacancy for an Engineering Manager. An experienced senior engineer, you will manage the R&D and engineering team and candidates are sought with good leadership skills who have worked in a complex mechanical engineering environment.
The Role
Lead and develop the Engineering and R&D team
Develop a thorough understanding of industry standards and specifications
Manage the day-to-day tasks and record keeping of the other members of the engineering team
Have a hands-on approach to leading the research and developments of existing and new products
Ensure that correct and up to date technical support is available
Ensure accurate creation of product parts lists and BOM‘s
Work with the quality team to develop quality systems
Work with the Manufacturing team to develop and improve manufacturing processes
Meet with customers to develop products
The Person
An experienced Senior Engineer with proven leadership skills you will be highly organized, have excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss technical issues at a high engineering level. With a solid understanding of mechanical principles you will be able to coach and lead a small but highly skilled engineering team to ensure project milestones and met.
The ideal candidate for the position of Engineering Manager will have a mechanical engineering qualification, a good understanding of steel / metals manufacturing and a good working knowledge of 3D CAD particularly SolidWorks and AutoCAD packages.
