A large and growing food manufacturer has a requirement for a Factory Manager to run there production operations leading a large team, and acting as member of the senior management team, reporting to the managing director.

The Role of Factory Manager:

Ensure efficient and safe operations in accordance with relevant Food Safety/Health & Safety regulations/Employment laws/BRC AA+ grade standard/Customers` standard
Ensure the quality from the ingredients to the final products and also all areas in the factory (including Warehouse) shall be met with ttechnical and ccommercial standard at all times
Work closely with the Production and Supply Chain Managers to understand the daily production/dispatch/warehouse operations and rectify any issues as soon as it arises, discussing with the relevant departments if required.
Ensure that the daily and monthly stock taking for the stocks in the factory/warehouse shall be conducted and recorded in a correct and timely manner. Any discrepancy with Navision figures shall be reported to General Operation Department and Director with the root causes. The monthly stock report shall be signed off confirming that all the stocks in value and volumes are accurate.
Ensure the Production data analysis (Productivity, labour Expenses, Wastage for Ingredients, Packaging and Final products or yields) /Planning (Production time line/Allocation of staffs to each working station etc.) should be made and be authorized by relevant departments and Director in the form of the documents whenever the new products launch or any change in the equipment/the production flow/Number of staffs in each working station/Seasonal changes etc. are made.
To establish KPI`s in the key areas of production and warehouse suggest any measures to be taken for the continuous improvements of factory Operations.
Ensure that the labour expenses, Cost of sales/Wastage shall be fully recorded/analysed and met with the targets instructed by General Operation Department and Director for their reviews at all times. These data shall be weekly presented to them.
Responsible that the continuous daily improvement (Kaizen activities) shall take place in all the areas of Production.

The Person:

Experience in factory/production management in the food industry
Track record in factory/production management in managerial positions
Experience with ERP system, ideally Navision
High level of data analysis/planning skill with analysed and calculated data
Able to highlight and improve COGS performance
Capable of understanding both technical and operational departments
Capable to provide managers and directors with updated and correct information on the production
Able to improve wastage and drive labour controls
