Forming part of the UK strategy focusing on future technologies a leading research and development organisation has a new vacancy for a Commercial focused General Manager to join their centre which will focus on driving the electrification in the automotive, aerospace & energy sectors. With significant experience working in industry, you will have experience working on collaborative projects and an in-depth knowledge of power electronics.
The Role
Supporting the UK‘s Government‘s commitment to reduce carbon emissions and driving the electric revolution you will be working for one of the UK‘s leading research and development organisations. You will develop the centre‘s overall strategy working with industrial partners and other UK R&D centres promoting collaborative working partnerships and promoting the centre‘s capabilities across industry.
Key responsibilities:
You will provide dynamic and ambitious leadership and vision necessary to ensure correct operational control and reporting procedures are in place to effectively grow and develop key relationships across a number of sectors.
Develop, monitor and evaluate strategy to emphasise industrial growth.
Partner with industrial partners to demonstrate benefits of electrification and industrial impacts
Work with Business Development Managers to build key relationships with leaders of associated R&D centres and stimulate collaboration
Ensure success and sustainable growth of the Centre
Develop methodologies and policies that promote an inclusive and collaborative culture
Manage the overall strategy for the Centre including operations, procedures and growth
The Candidate
Degree in a relevant technology area and good understanding of Power Electronics.
Strategically minded and operationally focused
Well-connected with an established network of contacts within Engineering industry
Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
Enthusiastic and versatile, able to communicate at all levels
The ability to organise and plan workload
Able to bring people together towards a common goal, working collaboratively with different teams will be essential.
