A market leader in the design and manufacture of high integrity complex engineered components for use in the aerospace, automotive, defence and energy sectors has a new vacancy for a General Manager. You will be responsible for leading site operations including sales, engineering, production & quality and will take overall responsibility for new business generation, developing key customers business planning and manufacturing operations.
The Role
Responsible for Business Unit performance
Drive and lead new business development opportunities
Lead a multi-disciplined team as a cross functional business unit throughout the stages of design, development, manufacture and marketing of products and services
Maintain and develop long standing relationships with customers, distributers and end users
Set, communicate and ensure achievement of Business Unit priorities, goals and targets
Lead negotiations of new contracts and contract extensions
Streamline Business Unit‘s processes and improve working practices to achieve efficiencies and continuous productivity improvements.
Drive a continuous and process improvement ethos across the plant
Lead and engage the team and install accountability by identifying goals and empowering employees
The Person
Proven site leadership experience gained within a complex engineering environment.
Demonstrable track record of driving continuous and process improvement
Capable of managing, developing and implementing strategy for manufacturing operations to meet agreed performance plans within agreed budgets
Good understanding and experience of working in the aerospace, defence, energy, or high technology sectors
Experienced in negotiating and concluding long term multi-faceted contracts with key customers
Demonstrate business acumen coupled with the ability to identify opportunities for profitable business development with good knowledge, experience and understanding of contract terms and negotiation
Degree level or higher, desirable in business and/or technical disciplines
