This business is fast paced & has an established presence in the market place but is still looking to drive improvement in every area. The organisation has multiple sites across the UK & part of this role will involve sharing best practice & leading improvement initiatives across the group.
Job Description
As the Group Continuous Improvement Manager, you will be based from the West Midlands but have the chance to shape a UK business. This role will involve development of CI strategy & working with the sites on implementation. You will have the full support of the directorship & will work with the site operations teams in order to ensure sustainable change.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver appropriate training, coaching and support to transfer Lean knowledge to people
• To act as a Lean expert to help drive business improvement and also coach people throughout the business to develop their Lean capability
• Responsible for leading Lean initiatives and implementing lean methodologies throughout the business
• Contribute to the development and update of Lean methods and tools
• Facilitate the creation of value stream maps
• Use appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to identify opportunities for improvement and document process improvements
• Develop progress reports of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs
• Implement performance measures and reporting tools to support improvement and visibility of waste
• Work with the Operations Management Team to develop and deliver a strategy for continuous improvement throughout the business
• Work with production teams and conduct cycle time analysis to verify current / future production rates and target potential improvements
• Raise the level of awareness for Lean and Continuous Improvement
• Develop the team leaders, helping them to embrace the Continuous Improvement mindset
• Encourage a culture of problem solving and getting to root cause through experimentation in the workplace by means of Plan Do Check Act
• Deliver staff training at all levels, technicians to senior manager teams
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will be a results driven Continuous Improvement specialist with FMCG/manufacturing experience & the following:
• First hand experience using CI tools & techniques to deliver improvement; e.g. lean principles, 5S, six sigma, kaizen
• Ability to effectively analyse & develop bespoke improvement plans for sites
• Ability to engage & train a workforce
• Proven mentoring & coaching ability
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
What’s on Offer
Circa £55,000 – £65,000 + Additional Benefits (depending on experience)
