Consilium Recruit is working in partnership with a global medical products manufacturer, in the search for a Group Operations Director. This role has multi-site responsibility and is a full-time permanent position.
The Role
• Oversee all supply chain and manufacturing operations across the company
• Oversee activity related to products and services, including placing orders, storing, organising services, packing, loading and delivering products to clients
• Review existing operations and finding areas for development and growth
• Evaluate members of staff and enacting disciplinary proceedings, if necessary
• Hiring outside managers or promoting new leaders from within
• Review and update supply chain practices in line with company policies, standards, law and regulations
• Negotiating terms and prices with suppliers and freight companies, monitor and assess the their performance and maintain cost-effective practices
• Implement logistics strategies, tracking goods to the warehouse
• Analyse supply chain data and solve any issues or put alternative plans in place
• Identify and minimise risk by predicting the demand for products and adopting new technology with no interruption to process
• Manage inventory, packing and distributing
• Build capabilities of the international operations team to ensure service is delivered
• Drive clear focus and rigour behind the delivery of key performance metrics: in-stock, retail inventory cover, item level, shipment forecast accuracy and BU level Consumer Sales forecast bias
• Build positive relationships and collaboration between teams within the UK and with regional partners at all levels
• Partner with the international team to deliver continuous improvement projects for the business and also support with implementation of Dynamics 365
The ideal candidate
A key appointment to augment the senior leadership team, you will possess a proven track record of operating in a volume and complex manufacturing and distribution organisation, with multi-site responsibility, ideally with international exposure.
• A Degree or relevant qualification in a relatable field
• A proven track record of leadership, and developing strong performing teams with high motivation
• A wealth of experience in operations, logistics and supply chain departments
• Proven cross-functional forecasting experience, with a clearly demonstrated ability to deliver results
• Demonstratable experience in driving continuous improvement of the service delivered to retailers
• Ability to operate at a senior level with both internal and external partners, including experience leading complex negotiations
• Experience leading teams through periods of significant change
• You will have previous experience of a multi-site responsibility role, ideally covering both UK and EMEA responsibility
