This role requires a unique combination of personal inventiveness, a wide technical range, and the ability to bring people together to get projects complete.
You are likely to have started out as a restless designer and inventor who has had wide experience which involved mechanical/electrical/electronic design, possibly with software control. Your experience may have involved all aspects of design from concept to product launch.
Possibly you will have been exposed to a wide range of manufacturing processes such that you have a comprehensive knowledge of materials, processes, and techniques.
Given you are still primarily driven by being deeply involved with the innovation process and remaining fiercely inventive, you will be at home juggling your own projects with those of your team.
Your driving goal is, and always has been, to see your products being made and sold, and to be told that they are the best available.
Technology is fluid for you, you can effortlessly move from mechanical design to physics of adhesion, from Industry 4.0 to sheet metal design. What you don’t know you find out quickly.
